September 2026 curation. The National Research Council says CHU’s shortwave broadcast of Canada’s official time signal ended on 22 June 2026. Its 3.33, 7.85 and 14.67 MHz frequencies are retained here as last-known service frequencies, not as working streams. The linked NRC record documents the shutdown; AUWEN does not store or reproduce a recording.
LAST ADDRESSAUWEN reference entry. Google announced retirement for 1 July 2013 and offered subscription export during its sunset period. The original announcement survives; it is not a working Reader login. Archival question: can you identify the feed URL independently of the app used to read it?
LAST ADDRESSAUWEN reference entry. Google’s notice said consumer account shutdown and content deletion would begin on 2 April 2019. This record concerns the consumer service, not every later enterprise product. A surviving shutdown notice documents the service’s end; it does not restore an individual’s posts.
LAST ADDRESSAUWEN reference entry. NIST records that the north antenna now used by WWVB was built for the 20 kHz WWVL broadcast, discontinued in 1972. Distinguish the vanished service from equipment later reused for another one. The surviving source describes the infrastructure; this is not an off-air recording.
LAST ADDRESSFamiliar word, different meaning. Expand an entry for context.

Watch the resemblance to English “actual” meaning real.
Ist dieser Fahrplan aktuell?
For real, use echt or wirklich as the sentence requires.
At a station this asks whether the information is current, not whether the paper is genuine.
Language reference ↗Watch the resemblance to English “eventually” meaning in the end.
Wir kommen eventuell später.
For in the end, schließlich or letztendlich may fit.
The arrival is uncertain; this does not promise that waiting long enough guarantees it.
Language reference ↗Watch the resemblance to English “also” meaning too.
Der Bus fährt nicht, also nehmen wir ein Taxi.
For too or also, use auch.
Here also introduces a consequence. The finite verb nehmen follows it, then the subject wir.
Language reference ↗Watch the resemblance to English “bald” meaning without hair.
Der Zug kommt bald.
For bald-headed, use kahl or glatzköpfig as appropriate.
Soon does not give a precise departure time. Ask Um wie viel Uhr? if you need a clock time.
Language reference ↗Watch the resemblance to English “magazine”.
Merg la magazin.
For a magazine to read, use revistă.
A magazin alimentar is a food shop. The resemblance does not tell you what is being sold.
Language reference ↗Watch the resemblance to English “eventually”.
Putem lua eventual un taxi.
For “in the end,” use până la urmă or în cele din urmă, as context requires.
It signals possibility, not a promise that something will happen after enough time.
Language reference ↗Translate Romanian eventual and librărie; German bekommen, aktuell, eventuell, also and bald. Explain the misleading English resemblance.
Romanian: possibly; bookshop. German: get/receive; current/up to date; possibly; so/therefore; soon. Apply each in a sentence rather than translating by spelling alone.
Choose two filed moments to place them side by side. Matching dates are useful, but strange collisions are allowed.

A lightweight volunteer portal for a remote mountain community, with service links, fire-safety context, local history, and seasonal living notes.
OPENA volunteer-maintained rural village bulletin for events, clubs, council minutes, windfarm updates, local contacts, and businesses.
OPENA local collective’s portal connecting residents and visitors with the municipality’s guides, crafts, transport, food, news, and classifieds.
OPENA coastal neighborhood site shaped around baboons, wildfire readiness, endemic nature, emergency contacts, and a resident-run watch.
OPENA village-run pocket universe combining local stories, events, resilience information, a tool library, train times, and the community radio link.
OPENA neighborhood noticeboard where nine residents’ associations share meeting minutes, festival plans, classes, and practical community-center information.
OPENSeptember 2026 curation from the Bucharest news pilot. The municipal heating company’s live table identifies affected streets and buildings, the service affected, the stated cause and an estimated restoration time. Treat each restoration time as an estimate—the page says so—and check the current table rather than preserving an outage as permanent local knowledge.
OPENAUWEN reference entry. Start with the regional transport authority’s journey planner, then verify the ticket zones and current service notices for that journey. A timetable result and a valid ticket are separate things. This entry links to the live authority rather than freezing a fare or departure time in a travel note.
OPENAUWEN reference entry. Use the official English passenger site for station information, route maps, fares and service status. Tokyo Metro is one operator within a larger rail network; a route can involve another operator. Match the operator and station name before deciding what ticket covers the trip.
OPENAUWEN reference entry. CERN’s preservation project gives a small, concrete entry into the Web’s early infrastructure: the project’s own information page and its original purpose. Follow the restored-site link from CERN’s history page. A restored version is an archival representation, not proof that every original page or interaction survived.
OPENPlay bells, clocks, IDs, and announcements when an audio address is available; otherwise open the source record.
September 2026 curation. Germany’s national metrology institute documents a 77.5 kHz standard-frequency transmission carrying coded time information generated with PTB equipment at the transmitter site. A compatible clock decodes that signal; the entry is not a promise of reception in every building or location and includes no stored audio.
OPENAUWEN reference entry. NIST’s Fort Collins station broadcasts time and frequency information on several HF frequencies, including 5, 10 and 15 MHz. Reception depends on propagation, place and time; a listed frequency does not guarantee reception. Open the station’s primary record for its format and outage links. No recording is embedded here.
OPENAUWEN reference entry. WWVB distributes digital time codes on a 60 kHz carrier. Radio-controlled clocks decode data rather than listen to a spoken announcement. Do not confuse a 60 kHz radio carrier with an audible tone. The source explains both legacy pulse-width and newer phase-modulated formats.
OPENAUWEN reference entry. NICT describes the JJY standard-frequency and time-signal service, including the Ohtakadoya-yama and Hagane-yama stations. Use the primary page to distinguish the 40 kHz and 60 kHz transmissions and their locations. This is a source record for studying time distribution, not a live reception report.
OPENOPENING THE TAPE BOX…
Start with a place or a question. Earth connects places with radio, reporting, language and travel notes. Choose one destination and follow its sources rather than treating the map as a complete inventory.
Use Radio to find a city and station, then switch to News or City’s Pulse for the same location.
Choose Linguistics for language practice, pronunciation and writing. Currency provides a dated conversion estimate.
Field Notes contains published trips; the smaller collections file specific observations and source trails. Read their dates and context.
Try this: Pick one city in Radio, listen to a station, then look for a local report. Note what you learned and what remains unsupported.
You should get: A place connected to identifiable sources, with explicit gaps when coverage is thin.
Know the limit: A nearby source may report national news. A station coordinate may not locate its audience. Neither alone proves the locality of a claim.
